Supercells aren’t just dangerous because they can spawn tornadoes. Supercells can bring forth hail, torrential rains, and even stronger-than-tornado-wind downbursts! But photographer Mike Olbinski however didn’t let this knowledge phase him on his hunt for the perfect shot of one of these behemoths. In this stunning four part time-lapse, Olbinksi manages to capture the beautiful flowing movement of this rare phenomena.
By looking down and up, we can really understand how to appreciate this incredible terrestrial weather. Down here on Earth, these storms are the biggest of their kinds and would simply decimate any human obstruction. Further out in our solar system, however, we have storms that would dwarf this baby gust. Jupiter’s Great Red Spot has been raging relentlessly for 400 years! It seems like there truly is even harsher, more breath-taking weather out there.
